ACMD plans to conduct a comprehensive study detailing the oldest mosques in Ajman and the most prominent imams and preachers, who worked in the Emirate as well as highlight the various teaching methods used, in cooperation with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & endowments.

ACMD’s close cooperation with the Authority comes as both organizations met recently at the Department offices to discuss ways to strengthen relations.
“Last Ramadan we organized an Exhibition with the Authority on the oldest mosques in the world and we are keen to increase our cooperation on issue related to Islamic culture, research and books,” Faisal Al Nuaimi, Deputy General Manager ACMD explained.
He further pointed out that ACMD will work with the Authority on setting up a library in every mosque, particularly in large mosques such as Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid mosques.
Mohamed Al Ansari, Head of Support Services at the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & endowments also said that ACMD would assist in developing awareness messages that would be aired to worshipers on TV screens inside mosques.
“We will also set up a committee with ACMD on libraries and examine ways to boost their role and ensure their effective use in the community,” he added.
Al Nuaimi said that both organizations agreed on organizing workshops on the history of libraries in Ajman to familiarize the public with the history and founder of each library.
“We will also exchange the use of facilities owned by both organizations and hold joint events, workshops and seminars that would boost the role of culture within the community,” Al Nuaimi concluded.
